James is the Chief Executive Officer of ORIX Aviation Systems Limited and ORIX Aviation Management ME Ltd. with 23 years’ experience in the aviation industry. Prior to this, he held the positions of Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Commercial Officer of ORIX Aviation. James is a Board Director of the company since 2015. He has served as a Board Director of Avolon since February 2022.
James worked with ORIX Aviation from 2002 to 2007 and was Vice President of Acquisitions, New Business and Capital Markets. James spent two years as Managing Director, Head of Marketing and Capital Markets for Aergo Capital Group before returning to ORIX Aviation in 2009. James has also held previous positions as Executive Assistant to Tony Ryan and CFO of TARA Aerospace, along with a senior management role in the aviation team at KBC Aerospace Finance.
He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in Banking and Finance from University College Dublin. James was previously elected to the Board of Directors of ISTAT for a four-year term from 2015 to 2019 and currently serves as Chairman of the Wings Club Foundation European Chapter.
Yushi is the Managing Director at ORIX Aviation based in Ireland, seconded from ORIX Corporation.
With 20 years of financial services’ experience, Yushi began his career in ORIX Corporation in 2002. He spent four years working as sales representative in the corporate financial services department in Japan, seven years in the treasury department based in Tokyo and Hong Kong working in the area of capital market and institutional corporate funding as well as trading interest rate and FX derivatives for group’s investment on a global scale. Yushi joined ORIX Aviation in January 2013 and is a Board Director of the company since 2019.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan and a diploma in International Business from the U.C. Berkeley Extension programme in the U.S., and currently serves as Chairman of the Japan Business Society in Ireland.
Marie-Louise Kelly is the Chief Financial Officer of ORIX Aviation. In her role she is responsible for leading ORIX Aviation’s finance team and she holds a key position as a member of the leadership team in terms of strategic planning and directing a number of operational functions across the organisation.
Marie-Louise joined ORIX Aviation in 2009. Prior to being appointed to her current role, she held various positions across finance, commercial, corporate planning and structuring. She was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2016, joining the Board of ORIX Aviation in 2018.
Marie-Louise has over nineteen years’ experience in financial services. Prior to joining ORIX, she trained in KPMG Dublin’s Financial Services Tax division. She holds an Honours Degree in Commerce and an Honours Masters of Business Studies from University College Dublin. Marie-Louise is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor. She was appointed Chair of industry lobby group, Aircraft Leasing Ireland in July 2022.
Paul is the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Director of ORIX Aviation Management ME Ltd. Since joining ORIX Aviation in 2007, Paul has held a number of roles on the commercial team. Paul is currently based in Dubai to play a key role in the development of ORIX Aviation’s Dubai office.
Paul is head of the team that initiates and manages ORIX Aviation’s leasing and trading relationships and remarketing services. His role includes leading the teams responsible for remarketing of aircraft coming off lease and aircraft sales both on and off lease, in addition to the sourcing of acquisition opportunities. Having recently relocated to Dubai, Paul will continue to lead ORIX Aviation’s commercial operations as well as further develop key relationships in the region.
In 2023 Paul was elected to the Board of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), the global not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing aviation professionals with forums for increased networking and educational opportunities.
Prior to joining ORIX Aviation, Paul worked in the Private Banking division of Allied Irish Banks as a Lending Manager. He holds a Degree in Business Studies from Dublin City University and has postgraduate diplomas in Banking Credit, Lending and Business Banking.

Ruth is head of ORIX Aviation’s Corporate Planning and Investment division, a position she has held since 2019.
She has over fourteen years’ experience in financial services and joined ORIX Aviation’s Treasury Department in 2014 before moving into a commercial role in 2015. Her previous role involved the oversight and management of commercial acquisition projects. This included new business and external funding from origination to transaction closing. Prior to joining ORIX Aviation, Ruth worked in Bank of Ireland’s Global Markets division.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree having studied Economics and Finance in University College Dublin and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Rob has 18 years’ experience in the aviation industry. He joined ORIX Aviation in 2010 and has held several roles in our Commercial and Risk Management teams; he has held his current role as Head of Credit Risk since 2018 and also plays a leading role in the company’s ESG initiatives.
Before joining ORIX Aviation, he worked at Focus Aviation, an independent aircraft asset management firm in the UK from 2005 to 2010, initially as an Aircraft Marketing Executive and later as AVP Asset Management. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, where he specialised in Electronic and Information Engineering and has received additional training in Accounting and Finance, International Business Economics and Marketing.
