Long Term Market Participant
Over the past 30 years we have developed in-depth market expertise and knowledge. Our unique business model has allowed ORIX Aviation to continuously grow and generate strong profitability.
Since entering into our first Japanese Operating Lease over 20 years ago, we have continued to build upon our strong reputation in this market. In the last five years alone, we have sold US$5 billion worth of aircraft to over 80 Japanese Operating Lease investors. We continue to manage these aircraft following sale and have a number of repeat Japanese investors.
We have also established a strong track record of successful joint ventures and bespoke asset management solutions, working closely with investors globally for over 20 years. We provide leading asset management services and remarketing capabilities to our Joint Venture partners and asset management clients.
In November 2018, we acquired a 30% stake in Avolon, a top three ranking lessor, for US$2.2 billion of equity. This investment demonstrates our long-term confidence in and commitment to the industry. Our combined Assets Under Management (AUM) for ORIX Aviation’s fleet and 30% investment in Avolon exceeds US$17 billion.
In FY 2023, we executed over 190 aircraft transactions valued in excess of US$3 billion. ORIX Aviation are positioned for future growth, and we are continuously pursuing opportunities to grow our AUM.

Headquartered in The Oval in Dublin, with offices in Dubai and Tokyo, our team consists of more than 100 aviation professionals.
ORIX Aviation’s full service platform supports the active management of an aircraft throughout its life cycle. Our teams work together to ensure maximum value enhancement and risk minimization within a full-service infrastructure.
Our full-service infrastructure includes specialised teams in Commercial, Technical Services, Legal and Compliance, Credit Risk, Finance, Financial Operations and Contract Management, Corporate Planning and Investment, IT and Taxation.
Led by a senior team with over 200 years of collective experience and industry knowledge, we have invested in technology and in our people and we are scaled for future growth in all areas.
Our History
In 2003, we obtained an independent validation of our lease servicing capabilities. In 2015, we received the highest achievable S&P ranking – ‘Strong with a Stable Outlook’ which has been reaffirmed every two years. This demonstrates the significant capabilities within our company and provides investors and airlines with an independent validation of our expertise and ability.
