Graduate Programme Testimonials
Colleen Corcoran, Aircraft and Asset Management Origination
My name is Colleen Corcoran and I am originally from Chicago, Illinois. I have an Honours B.S. in Business Administration from Saint Louis University, and an Honours MSc. in Finance from Trinity College Dublin.
I discovered aircraft leasing while studying in Dublin and knew immediately that it was the industry for me. ORIX Aviation’s 2017/2018 Graduate Programme was a fantastic gateway into the industry as it allowed me to get involved in live transactions from the beginning. I appreciate that ORIX is big enough to be a major player in the industry, while small enough for everyone in the company to know each other.
After completing the Graduate Programme, I worked in the Commercial and Corporate Planning and Investment teams before my current role as Associate Vice President of Aircraft and Asset Management Origination.
Ronan Moore, Technical
I graduated from the University of Limerick (UL) in 2021, with a B.E. (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering. I also hold an MSc in Aviation Finance (2022) from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. During my Engineering degree at UL, I learned about the world of aircraft leasing through a nine-month internship with GECAS at its then-headquarters in Shannon.
I began my full-time career on ORIX’s Technical team as part of the Company’s 2022 Graduate Programme intake. Since joining ORIX Aviation, the cross-functional and deal-facing exposure that I have gained has been greater than I could have ever imagined. Within the Technical team so far, I have been exposed to a wide variety of exciting areas, including on-site support of aircraft and engine deliveries, technical due diligence of new assets and support for disposals of aircraft and engines, and detailed analyses of maintenance events and associated claims.
The ORIX Aviation Graduate Programme provided me with an excellent opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge of aircraft leasing. Since completing the Graduate Programme, I have had a fantastic opportunity to increase my responsibilities as a Technical Analyst, and to continue to grow as an aviation professional.
Aoife Martin, Credit Risk
I graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a BA in Business & Economics in 2021 and completed my MSc in Economic Development & Globalisation at The University of Groningen, Netherlands in 2022.
I started the ORIX Graduate Programme in 2022, joining the Credit Risk team. From the beginning I was involved in the core activities carried out by the team, such as conducting airline credit analyses, monitoring existing lessees, performing market and macroeconomic research, and providing market updates at the quarterly general risk briefing meetings.
As my role has progressed, I am now involved in transactions and perform counterparty credit and KYC assessments as part of my position on the transaction deal team. Working on the Credit Risk team has allowed me to collaborate with many of the other teams at ORIX, providing great opportunities to learn and get to know colleagues across the company.
The ORIX Graduate Programme has provided an opportunity to gain invaluable, hands-on experience in the aircraft leasing market.
